Is the Hokey Pokey really what it's all about? (please explain)

I’m interviewing. This question was included as part of the application process for a small research firm. Here’s my answer.

Yes.

The Hokey Pokey really is what it’s all about.

Dance, movement, play, are central aspects of a joyful life. Further, moving as we do in this dance, left foot, right foot, left arm, right arm, is a learned ritual of gratitude for the simple gift of a healthy and able body.

Doing the Hokey Pokey allows us to count these gifts one at a time, ten fingers, ten toes, and then to finally add all those gifts together so that we may shake it all about.

My first grade self believed what my today self believes, the hokey pokey really is what it’s all about.
